En-Primeur 2020 Updates

The En-Primeur 2020 campaign kicked off early last month, and to date, we've seen many releases from most of the Châteaux, and we are eagerly awaiting the rest of the releases. By now, we all know about the challenges mother nature presented the Châteaux with during the growing seasons. There is no doubt 2020 is a vintage of many ups and downs, yields for some estates are down 25%, yet earlier reviews and ratings prove the quality is high, making it hard for many investors and collectors to get hold of those highly scored wines.

This year, virtual tastings have become the norm, and after much consideration, many Châteaux have done their best to send barrel samples to critics and suppliers over the world. This is of course done with many precautions and measures put in place to ensure the freshness of the wines. We, for one, can attest to the fact that when bottled properly, these samples are indeed kept very fresh and in excellent condition for tasting, as tried and tested from the En Primeur 2020 tasting we held earlier last month before the heightened restrictions kicked in. We felt the wines presented were all very bold and vibrant, especially the reds, and the whites were a pleasant surprise of crispness and fruitiness, a promising year for sure.

Bordeaux 2020 vintage definitely completed the trilogy of excellent vintages beginning in 2018. All three are no better or worse than each other but unique and have their own illustrious identity.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the releases thus far. Do note these prices mentioned are ex-SG DF, including GST on wines only

There are still many more exciting releases to go for this year's En Primeur campaign, so remember to keep a lookout for more releases on our website and social media. We have also included a list of En Primeur releases thus far below. If you'd like to place an order, you may do so on our website here.
