Wine Clique is the appointed distributor of Bodegas Artadi

Artadi was founded in 1985 as a kind of mini-cooperative with a group of 13 local vine growers in Laguardia. Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle recognized the potential of these wonderful vineyards and purchased the Bodegas. In a very short time, Artadi became one of the leaders today in innovating the style of Rioja, making brilliant wines like Pagos Viejos, Grandes Anadas and Vina El Pison, that is pure and reminiscent of the terroir of the individual vineyards, with Vina El Pison & Pagos Viejos receiving consistent scores of over 90 points from Parker over the last decade including 100 pts for the 2004 vintage.

However, it is his Vinas de Gain that gains much popularity. It is the least expensive in the Artadi's collection, with the most to offer - impressive purity of fruits, complexity, elegance and balance, coming from vines that are over 28 years of age. Juan Carlos has recently created two new Bodegas. Artazu that is located in Navarra and El Seque in Alicante, where he continued with his idea of producing single vineyards wines that are true to the soil and climate.
