Viñedo Chadwick
"The vines of Viñedo Chadwick are located in a sub-region of Alto Maipo called Puente Alto. Located 600 meters above sea level, Puente Alto is blessed with large diurnal swings that allow longer hang times for the grapes, resulting in full phenolic ripeness with minimal loss of freshness. According to Patrick Schmitt of The Drinks Business, Puente Alto is now capable of producing Cabernet Sauvignon that “now ranks with Pauillac, Bolgheri and Napa.
Eduardo Chadwick's father, Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz, had a passion for vineyards, and was also an accomplished polo player. And it is a fitting tribute that the beloved field where he once played polo is now planted to the grapes that go into the wine named in his honor.
Chadwick Vineyard is managed using sustainable farming practices, only the best grapes are selected, and all are hand picked. Cover crops are planted in autumn and spring for vigor control and provide a natural environment for selected plants to control harmful insects. As part of these practices, during winter piles of compost are produced to fertilize the vineyard naturally."
