Flamboyant and somewhat more powerful than the 2019 rendition, Adrien Renoir’s 2020 Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Les Epinettes reveals an expressive bouquet of pear, honeysuckle, raspberries and orange zest. On the palate, it is full-bodied, textural and concentrated, shaped by the warm growing season and supported by ripe yet racy acidity, with Pinot Noir phenolics discernible on the long, aromatic finish. This cuvée, readers will recall, is sourced from old massal selection Pinot Noir planted in clay-rich soils.
