The 2014 Brut Millésimé D is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with just under half of the base wines undergoing malolactic fermentation. The nose is subtle, with hints of red and yellow apple and chalk. On the palate, it's fresh and lively, with a beautiful tension of apple and lemon over a deep chalky base. This wine has a lot of energy and verve; the Pinot Noir plays second fiddle to the brightness of the Chardonnay, while simultaneously providing the backdrop. Beautiful. The dosage is 7.4 grams per liter.
