Tasted at Goedhuis’s Burgundy tasting at the Saatchi Gallery. This is a fabulous Clos-de-la-Roche that vies with the ’99 for supremacy. It is bridled with a seductive bouquet, much more floral and feminine than other vintages with aromas of rose petal, Devonshire fudge, wild strawberries and acacia. Wonderful. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, supple tannins and an ethereal sense of symmetry that makes it stand out from the pack. Very elegant…almost nubile on the finish with the mineralite lingering on the aftertaste. Superb
