A distinctly cool and highly spiced nose reveals reluctant aromas of both red and black currant, humus, earth and a whiff of that gamy Gevrey character. There is an impressive underlying tension to the sleekly textured and overtly muscular broad-shouldered and mineral-driven flavors that exhibit superb persistence on the hugely long finish that is focused and reasonably well-balanced though there is a hint of warmth. Even so, this should very amply repay extended cellaring as the underlying material is just too good for very much to go awry.
