Rainer Wess's 2018 Steiner Ried Kögl 1ÖTW Grüner Veltliner displays an intense golden color and opens with irritating earthy notes that are anything but precise or stimulating. The palate is rich and rather broad, with a bitter finish and burnt flavors in the aftertaste. A strange wine. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg in September 2019.
